Being in high school is enough stress as it is for a teenager. However, throw acne into the mix and your teenager will have a world of stress. Acne is the inflammation of pores on the skin. Dirt infects the pores thus creating a little bump on the facial skin. Teenagers tend to be very sensitive with personal issues such as this. They already have peer pressure to deal with. Having acne makes them easy targets for teasing. But, there are some tips your teenager can use to ease the breakouts of acne.
Make sure your teenager washes his or her face properly each day. They may be simply splashing water on and drying off with any towel. This can happen if they are always in a hurry for school. Have them follow the simple steps of facial care. Warm water first, cleanser, then cold water and finally pat dry are proper face care techniques. They should be using a personal facial towel to dry their faces and not a bath towel.
Look for a facial cleanser that is not harsh on the skin. Harsh cleansers have a tendency to dry out the skin and increase the chance of worse acne. A soft cleanser will contain aloe. Using a natural based product is probably your best bet. Have your teenager monitor the effects of the chosen cleanser for a week. There should not be any redness or itchy skin. Have them stop using it immediately if any of these problems begin to arise.
